With my two children fully grown and living their lives. I decided to rescue a dog for companionship, someone to talk to, cuddle with, and shower with love...and of course, feed. I knew I wanted an older dog. I felt for a dog to spend their life with a family, then suddenly become homeless was tragic. I wanted to be that retirement home, so that in the final years of a dog's life they could experience love and care.
What started out as me rescuing a dog, soon became the dog rescuing me.
Enter Halo.
Our experiences together in the last year compelled me to share the story of Halo to show how rescuing an older dog could bring so much joy.
My first book publishing experience begins with children's stories about Halo. The goal was to compel people to consider adopting an older dog with all the proceeds from the sales of these books to go towards Saving Great Animals, the not-for-profit organization where I found Halo.
